Applying for Power of Attorney

Afghan citizens residing in Türkiye who wish to authorize another individual to act on their behalf in Afghanistan or another country can apply for a Power of Attorney through the Consular Section of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Ankara.

Please read the following information carefully before visiting the Embassy.

Presence

The applicant(s) and two adult witnesses must be physically present at the Embassy with a completed application form and all required documents.
Applications will not be accepted if any of the required persons or documents are missing.

Application Form

Applicants must carefully complete the Power of Attorney Form in Dari or Pashto, ensuring accuracy in all names, dates, figures, and places.
The form must clearly state the subject of the Power of Attorney and the limits of the attorney’s authority.

Required Documents

The following persons and documents must be present at the Embassy during your appointment:


1. Power of Attorney for Marriage Certificate

If the Power of Attorney is being issued for a Marriage Certificate:

  • One of the spouses (husband or wife) who resides in Türkiye should visit the Embassy with:

    • A request letter outlining the required service and providing details of the date and place of marriage

    • A copy of Tazkira or valid Afghan passport and two recent photographs (size: 3×4 cm) of both spouses

  • Two adult male witnesses, each with:

    • A copy of Tazkira or Afghan passport

    • Two recent photographs (size: 3×4 cm)

  • A copy of Tazkira and one photograph of the attorney/legal representative in Afghanistan.


2. Other Types of Power of Attorney

For other purposes (such as property, legal, or general representation):

  • Applicant(s) must provide:

    • A copy of Tazkira or Afghan passport

    • Two recent photographs (size: 3×4 cm)

  • Two witnesses, each with:

    • A copy of Tazkira or Afghan passport

    • Two recent photographs (size: 3×4 cm)

  • Attorney/Legal Representative (in Afghanistan or another country) must provide:

    • A copy of Tazkira or passport

    • Two recent photographs (size: 3×4 cm)

 

For property-related Power of Attorney:
If the property is inherited, the applicant must also submit:

  • A copy of the Certificate of Inheritance, and

  • A copy of the proof of ownership (Sale Deed/Qabala) or other related documents.

Procedure

Upon arrival at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Ankara, the applicant and witnesses will present their documents at the consular front desk.

  • The Embassy staff will review and verify all submitted documents and identity proofs.

  • If all requirements are met and all parties are present, the preparation of the Power of Attorney will begin immediately.

  • After verification and signing, the document will be officially issued to the applicant.

The service fee for a Power of Attorney is 125 USD
